Frequently Asked Questions.....
Here a few of the general questions and answers regarding training with me! I have tried to be as informative as possible, but please feel free to contact me, or book in for a FREE consultation to find out more!
Who is personal training for?
Personal training is for everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned gym-goer. No matter your goal—whether it’s losing body fat, building muscle, or just getting fitter and feeling better—I can help! Even if you feel out of shape right now, that’s totally fine. I will customize workouts and nutrition plans to fit your unique needs, helping you reach your goals.
Why should I hire a PT?
Customized plan: For many people, the hardest part of going to the gym is knowing where to start and which exercises to choose. A personal trainer can remove that uncertainty by helping you build a customized plan that aligns with your individual goals and needs.

Technique Check: PTs are experts in proper exercise technique and can ensure you're working out safely and with correct form, which helps lower your risk of injury. They also teach you how to exercise effectively, building your confidence so you can eventually work out on your own with ease.

Accountability: Having a scheduled session with a trainer—especially one you’re paying for—can be a powerful motivator to show up and stay consistent. Your PT also keeps you focused and on track during each workout, helping you make the most of your time at the gym.

Interest: Bored with the same workout routine? A personal trainer can mix things up by introducing new exercises and equipment, keeping your workouts fresh and engaging as you work toward your goals.
How much do you charge?
Please send me an enquiry and we can chat about your goals and budget. I try to be as accommodating and competitive as possible for all my clients!
How many times a week do I need a PT?
The number of personal training sessions you have depends on a variety of factors, including your goals, schedule, and budget. While some people prefer 2-3 sessions a week for consistency, others with busier routines or tighter budgets may opt for fewer sessions. During your consultation with me, we'll discuss your goals, and then create a personalized training plan that fits your lifestyle and financial situation, ensuring the right balance of sessions for you.
How will you track my progress?
We will use the customized AWPT app for an overall PT experience enabling me to keep on top of your health/fitness metrics and track your goals and progress. We could also use progress photos and/or a fitness journal if preferred.
How long does a session last?
This all depends on your needs, preferences and goals. Anything ranging from 45-90 mins is a typical session time.
How is a session structured?
Same as above, but I always aim to have a warm-up and cool-down in each session. The main content of the session will likely be built around skill building, form checking and promoting further habits for growth.
What if I have an existing injury or health condition?
Talk to Your GP: Before starting or changing your workout routine, it's important to check in with a healthcare expert who understands your medical history. This ensures your plan is safe and tailored to your needs.

Personalized Modifications: Based on your GP's recommendations, I will adapt your workouts—whether that means adjusting intensity, avoiding certain movements, or incorporating exercises that aid in recovery and support your condition.

Stay in Touch: Ongoing communication is key. Let me know how your body responds to each session so we can make adjustments and keep your workouts safe, effective, and aligned with your overall health.
How quickly will you get back to me?
I'll aim to respond to your queries during the day within an hour, but will always try respond within 24hrs where possible as a worse case.
How often will you check in with me?
This is personal preference for you, the client. Depending on your goals, need and requirement. We can discuss this at consultation.
Do you offer nutritional advice?
I am not a Nutritionist, however, within my scope of practice I can offer as much advice as possible on the best methods of achieving your health/fitness goals and meeting these even more efficiently through your diet.
How will I know if I'm doing the exercises correctly?
During our sessions we go over workout skill and technique to build confidence and prevent injury within the gym. If opting for online training with me, the app offers in-app videos and tutorials for all prescribed exercises!
What qualifications do you have?
At the moment I hold level 2 fitness instructing and level 3 personal training qualifications, as well as a British Army Physical Training Instructor qualification, all Accredited by The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). And I am currently undertaking several other level 3/4 courses and CPD to bolster my PT tool kit!
Where do sessions take place?
I am based out of Unit One Gym (Guiseley, Leeds), but if opting for online this can be anywhere in the world, or alternatively we can use one of the numerous parks that Leeds has to offer for a true nature hit!
Will I be doing the same workout every session?
Hell no! Mostly, consistency is key, but that doesn't need to be boring. I will aim to challenge you physically, whether that's a new exercise to learn or changing the way you perform an exercise. Of course, this does depend on your goal and time availability etc.
How do I get started?
Head to my 'Contact' page and hit me up! I will then reach out to arrange a mutually convenient time to set up a consultation with you to ascertain your goals, motivations and needs. I will go away and write a plan, keeping your needs and work-life balance in mind always. Then we will work together to achieve and surpass those goals!
